The random number generator kept me in the Company Best Cookies section with the Orange Pecan Cookies on p. 126. Fortunately, I had better luck with these than the Chocolate Orange Puffs! These were a delicate refrigerator cookie with a hint of orange.

These were the first refrigerator cookies for me on this adventure. In fact, I don’t often make them and can’t remember the last time I did. The dough was a simple and traditional cookie dough with butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, flour, baking soda, and salt. These also had the zest of one orange and some chopped pecans.

Once the dough was made, I formed a log, wrapped it up and popped it in the refrigerator for a few hours.

Then I took it out and sliced it up. I cut them much, much thicker than they were supposed to be, but I have no idea how to cut a cookie log at eighth-inch intervals. In any case, they baked up just fine.

These were tender and had a nice hint of orange flavor. They were easy to make, and while I didn’t make as many as I was supposed to (because I cut them too thick), I don’t think I would change anything.

Bottom line: These were tasty, lightly sweet with a hint of orange and a crunch of pecan. We really liked them! I would certainly make them again.
